While postpartum depression can occur at any time within the first year, symptoms typically appear between two weeks to a month after delivery. What people often don’t realize is that postpartum depression can actually affect both sexes and not just the mother of the child.

Symptoms of postpartum depression

Anxiety at being a new parent. The new parent may feel as though they are incapable of handling all the new responsibilities and that perhaps parenthood was a wrong decision.
Extreme sadness and depression
Lack of sleep or sleeping too much
Lack of interest in activities
Decreased energy
