Michael Gyorffy - LCSW

Hello! I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2007 and have been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. I have a B.A in psychology (Asbury University) and a master’s degree in social work (Spalding University). My clinical experience comes from serving the community in various settings – community-based social services, inpatient psychiatric treatment, and extensively in outpatient mental health. I moved from Kentucky to Colorado in the summer of 2017. In Kentucky I was on faculty with the University of Kentucky’s department of Psychiatry, where I was an assistant professor and outpatient mental health therapist. My main goals are to help clients feel deeply understood, to establish a supportive connection, and to alleviate unwanted difficulties and struggles as much as possible. I use multiple modes of treatment depending on the client’s needs. I focus heavily on helping the client to feel valued. I have extensive training in the areas of ADHD (specifically parent training) and substance abuse and I’m well-experienced in helping with other struggles such as panic attacks, anxiety, PTSD, depression, relationship difficulties, and parenting.

On a personal note I love the mountains of Colorado and enjoy skiing, snowboarding, hiking, etc. And I have a large family so I will be able to draw on personal experience in helping you raise your kids!
