I focus on life transitions including relationship changes, sexual orientation, gender, and professional and career changes. I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD. These can be present or more visible when we’re going through changes in our lives.

I will work to understand your perspective, your world, and to acknowledge the unique challenges you face. As a member of the queer community and one who has experienced both personal and career transitions, I feel that gives me a unique viewpoint to help you navigate your own transition.
When collaborating with clients, I tend to start with steps that can provide relief for whatever thoughts and feelings that are interfering with their daily lives. From there, time is spent exploring personal issues including the effects of someone’s personal beliefs and their environment. My theoretical base typically involves person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic work.

In compliance with Colorado state licensing requirements, video sessions are only available to clients physically located in Colorado at the time of their appointment. Prior to your first session, Mel Jones will send you everything you need to join your secure video call.
