April is a graduate of Naropa University where she earned her Master of Arts in Somatic Counseling Psychology, with a specialty in Dance/Movement Therapy. April works with people to support the integration of mind, body, and spirit. In addition to verbal dialogue, sensory tracking, breath work, and movement are often integral components of a therapy session and the body is looked to as both a guide and resource throughout the therapeutic process. April works in a person-centered manner and is always striving to uncover each individual’s unique wisdom, resources, and resilience. April strives to create an atmosphere of safety, curiosity, discovery, and hope for everyone seeking therapeutic support and looks forward to collaborating with people in playful and creative ways in order to reach therapeutic goals.
April is experienced in working with people who are experiencing anxiety, mood dysregulation, trauma, grief and loss, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and neurodevelopmental disorders. April is certified in Dr, Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) and has worked extensively with school-aged children and caregivers who have experienced complex trauma. April’s knowledge of NMT leads her to approach trauma resolution in a neurobiologically informed and developmentally sensitive manner.
