Kayla Jackson

I utilize a variety of modalities in my practice, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment Based Approaches, Mindfulness, and a Solutions-Focused-Strengths-Based perspective. I believe that processing difficult emotions and life experiences, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, taps into our personal strengths and helps us to build resilience. I specialize in working with clients who experience depression and anxiety, as well as those who have experienced traumatic events. I have experience working with clients experiencing grief or loss, and I believe that grief is relevant to many clients’ lives in ways we often do not consider. I focus on creating a positive therapeutic relationship, where we can get the hard work done, and also connect as humans. Such a relationship is vital to helping you achieve your goals and improve your quality of life.

I employ an intersectional perspective when considering what larger issues may be impacting an individual. I am a passionate advocate for equity and social justice, and am open to working with individuals of all backgrounds. I value the ongoing growth and learning opportunities I have in this space, especially to be able to provide culturally competent services. I take pride in cultivating a safe space for everyone I connect with.
