Celia is a trauma- informed, somatic(body-centered) therapist who works from the understanding that we are all experiencing the world through our personal perceptions and are the experts of our lived experiences. Celia uses a combination of traditional talk therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and expressive arts that may include: body awareness and movement, visual art, and writing to assist clients in better understanding their lived experiences and explore their developing self-awareness in support of the client’s healing (or therapeutic) goals . Celia specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Celia creates strong therapeutic relationships that foster a sense of safety and a place where clients feel empowered to grow and change in ways that lead to an improved quality of life. In her spare time, Celia enjoys reading, dancing, walking her basset hound and values spending time with friends and loved ones.
