I strive to bring a calm and gentle presence to therapy sessions. You deserve to be heard and to learn helpful coping skills to feel more content and empowered in your life. Using techniques that incorporate the mind and the body, we will form a plan to empower you to create happiness and fulfilment. My work in mental health began with community volunteering, which led me to pursue my Master’s degree in Social Work in the Boston area. My training has provided me with a broad understanding of the challenges people face and what can be helpful in overcoming them. I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse settings, from a locked psychiatric unit, to home-based sessions. I’ve served as a nursing home therapist and a hospice social worker. I specialize in Life transitions. I work with Stress, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Family relationships, Peak performance and Grief/Bereavement. I’m familiar with the dynamics of major mental illness diagnoses including Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorder, and I like to help both clients and family members of people whose loved ones face these challenges. I have raised two children and understand the importance of a supportive and inclusive environment. I have loved ones who are combat veterans and loved ones who are LGBTQ+. I have friends and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and I’m genuinely interested in your personal story and the strengths you bring to your healing journey. I believe you are inherently healthy and possess your own best solutions; my role is to accompany you in the work. Together, we’ll build on your strengths while remaining sensitive to your struggles. The ideas of self care and self esteem can make sense and feel natural. I would love to hear from you and see if you feel we are a good match.
